PEDAL INSTRUCTIONS

We have created a detailed instruction set for helping install your pedal. Once you download and install the Transcription software, you can use it. This download will place a document, with audio, in your Current Activity folder. To access it, first install it using the link below, then login to your Transcription software, select Medical Transcriptionist, click Start Work, click File, then Open and then open PEDAL TEST.

HOW DO I ATTACH A PEDAL?

ATSI Software works with most pedals that connect to the joystick or game port on your PC.

Your pedal may look different than this. Connectors for compatible pedals will have a 15pin connector or a telephone (RJ11) connector and a 15pin adapter.

In many cases your pedal is already set up to work with our software. All you will need to do is properly identify your pedal type in the configuration screen. (see chart below) In other cases, or if you are installing a pedal for the first time, you will need to configure the pedal.

Once you have attached the pedal to the joystick port of the Computer, you will need to make sure that is enabled. To enable the pedal and to identify the configuration for your pedal click Start - Settings - Control Panel - Game Controllers. This will bring up the joystick configuration screen.

make sure that your pedal is identified as a 2 axis - 4 button controller

Make sure that your pedal is identified as a 2 axis - 4 button joystick. If windows did not automatically identify the controler use the ADD button to add a 2 axis - 4 button joystick

Next you will click on the properties button to display the Game controller properties screen. then select the "Test" tab

Use this screen to identify your pedal configuration

Press the pedals one at a time from left to right and note the number of the light that corresponds. Use the table below to identify the pedal code:

  • Button sequence Code used
  • 1,2,3................1
  • 1,3,2................2
  • 3,1,2................3
  • 2,1,3................4
  • 2,3,1................5
  • 3,2,1................1

  • Finally you will insert the code into the configuration screen of the software
